Record subgroup for the ALPLM Manuscripts Department for collections and vertical files. Small collections include personal and family papers, corporate records, county records, and military records. Vertical files include small collections of unknown or varied provenance used predominantly as ready reference files, documenting Illinois counties and cities, individuals, businesses, organizations, and events.

Scope and Contents Collection consists of family and business papers, including accounts with New Harmony (Ind.) post office, ferriage bills, medical and education expenses, an 1828-1831 recipe book and correspondence of the younger Charles Agniel.

Collection — Box 63
Scope and Contents Photocopies and typed transcript of the legislative record re: establishment of Ogee's Ferry. Correspondence of Frank E. Stevens regarding the circumstances of giving this land to Madeline in order to maintain the ferry. Includes letters from several officials at the Dept. of Interior, Office of Indian Affairs, one letter from Senator Lawrence Y. Sherman and one letter from Ernest East discussing and denying a claim that Joseph was a "drunkard."
