Overview

Incorporated in 1891 in Springfield, Ill. as a foundry and engine building and repair business. The first president was E. F. Smith. Ca. 1900 George N. Black became president of the company until his death in 1908. The company ceased to exist under that name shortly after that.

Cash book, ledger, trial balance sheets and engine orders. Cash book includes entries from 1899-1908. Trial balance sheets covers from January 1906 through April 1907 and incomplete entries for 1908 and 1909. The engine orders include shipments made from May 1902-April 1906.
