Abstract
Descendants of Arthur Arrington and Mary West Arrington, who emigrated from England to Virginia in 1670, are traced through the research done by J. Neil Arrington. The Arrington’s spread out across the country and have had family members in all vocations and professions including farming, medicine, psychology, and politics. Louis Arrington, born in 1837 in Virginia, helped found the glass blowers union and was appointed Illinois State Factory Inspector in 1897 by Governor Tanner. J. Neil, whose father was a launderer in Chicago, lived in New Jersey most of his life.
Correspondence, wills, death certificates, deeds, genealogical records, county census records, cemetery records, and notes document the family history and J. Neil’s work in collecting it. Correspondence with many members of the family through different lineages. Family records and histories for Barnard, Beasley, Blanchette-Buchanan, Bolling, Burch, Burge, Farmer, Goddard, Martin, Massey, Prather, Perdue, Renfro and Thompson families.
