Biographical / Historical
From Mattoon, Illinois. Served as a private in the 16th Illinois Cavalry and was taken prisoner in Georgia on January 3, 1864, first imprisoned at Belle Isle and then Andersonville. Was released in a prisoner exchange April 1, 1865.
