Miscellaneous poems, quotations and civil and military facts including an essay "Army Life of Regulars". A brief history of the 11th Ill. Infantry. Copies of general orders and letters of Brigadier General T.E. Ransom. Some family information. Sketches done after the war. All captioned, signed and dated by Ransom.

From Edgewood, Ill. served in the 11th Illinois Infantry, Co. E as Sgt. and 2nd Lieutenant. Brother of General Thomas Edwin Ransom of the 17th Army Corps who died in the war.
