Biographical / Historical

Worked aboard steamboats (the S.B. Rose, Moses Greenwood and others) on the Mississippi, Missouri, Arkansas and Yazoo Rivers. His brother Will, his brother Thomas (a lawyer), Thomas's wife Fannie, and his father all lived in Golconda, Illinois.
