Frances Gertrude Priddy Papers

 Collection — Multiple Containers
Identifier: MS-BC526

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of manuscripts and notes, research notes, books, journals, newspaper clippings, correspondence, scrapbook, and personal notes. The bulk of the material falls into one of three categories: manuscripts and notes, journals, and correspondence. The manuscripts and notes consist of handwritten and typed drafts of manuscripts, chapter outlines, and research notes. The journals include daily diaries with multiple entries per day written from 1983-2004, (including entries on the day she died), in which Priddy writes about her animals, kennel, writing, friends, and personal ruminations. There are also travel journals with daily entries written while on trips to Europe between 1978-2003; “highlights journals” in which she gives new years’ resolutions, the weather report, and an overview of her day’s activities for each day between 1982-2004; and “special events” journals covering notable events between 1991-2003. The majority of the correspondence was written from 1988-2004 and discusses her animals, travels, and writing. The rest of the collection includes books written and referenced by Priddy, a scrapbook, genealogy materials, and notes regarding real estate and retirement.
