These materials concern local, departmental, and national activities including conventions, establishment of the Past President’s Club, administration of the Maywood Home for Soldiers’ Widows, and alliances with the Grand Army of the Republic and with the Sons and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War Banquet Association of Cook County, Illinois. The collection is arranged into four series: Series 1, National Business, Series 2, Department of Illinois, Series 3, Local Tents and Series 4, Maywood Home for Soldiers' Widows. Series 1 includes reports, forms, correspondence, newsletters, newsclippings, and convention information. Series 2 contains reports, financial data, minutes, roll call, correspondence and newsletters. Series 3 contains tent information, and Series 4 contains rules and bylaws, policies, minutes and roll call, resident information and correspondence. Within the series, the materials maintain their original order.
