Overview
The Abraham Lincoln Association (ALA) is an American association advancing the studies of Abraham Lincoln. The ALA publishes the Journal of The Abraham Lincoln Association and a newsletter, supports Lincoln scholarship with awards, celebrates the anniversary of President Lincoln’s birth with an annual symposium and banquet in Springfield, Illinois, and hosts Lincoln events. The primary mission of the ALA is to preserve and make more readily accessible the landmarks associated with Lincoln’s life; and to actively encourage, promote and aid the collection and dissemination of authentic information regarding all phases of his life and career.

Biographical / Historical
Founded in 1908 by a prominent group that included the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, a former Vice President, U.S. Senators and Representatives, Governors, and newspaper executives.
