Logan in memorial to the slain president and friend to many of that bar and in order to show their respect and sincere sympathy they adjourn and attend the funeral. Written and signed by Charles H. Lanphier, clerk. Resolution, Nov. 30, 1885, presented by Judge William L. Gross on the death of Major John T. Stuart, that the court adjourn and they proceed as a body to the home of "their deceased brother" to attend the funeral.

The next three letters are from Illinois and discuss family and friends and the differences between the farms, the climate, the roads, cost of living and the illnesses in Illinois and New England. Describes Lincoln's funeral as "wicked to spend so much money in such a way."...
