Letters to her family, the James Prescotts of Deerfield Center, New Hampshire. The first is sent from Livingston Falls, Maine and makes references to the war and the draft and advises that she would "skedadle to Canada". The next three letters are from Illinois and discuss family and friends and the differences between the farms, the climate, the roads, cost of living and the illnesses in Illinois and New England. Describes Lincoln's funeral as "wicked to spend so much money in such a way."...
