Overview William E. Fuerer (1934-2019) served in the U.S. Navy and worked for United Press International before joining the staff of Illinois Governor Otto Kerner in 1962. Fuerer was an Assistant Press Secretary and speechwriter during his time on Governor Kerner's staff.
