Overview Alfred Henderson, a MacMurray College (Jacksonville, Illinois) professor and one time chairman of the history and government department, was born in England, the son of Alfred W. and Alice Dalby Henderson, but became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1917. He was raised in Rochester, New York and worked for Eastman Kodak after graduating from high school. He then attended the University of Rochester where he received a B.A. and a M.A. and went on to earn his Ph.D. in history from Duke University....
