Scope and Contents Land titles, mostly French claims, deeds, plats, surveys, etc. Documents from the claim, 1861, of Thomas Allen include deeds, of Jean Baptiste Maillet, a prominent citizen of Old Peoria and Isaac Darneille, the second Illinois lawyer. Deposition of Antoine Bourbonne recalls the town before it "was destroyed by Captain Craig", referring to an 1812 incident when the town was plundered and burned. Documents from Voris v.
