Letter of admittance, letters to family and grade reports from Annapolis. He tells of his life, studies and difficulties at the Naval Academy. Three letters from Owen Lovejoy regarding his efforts toward reinstatement and two letters from the Academy. Letters from the war mainly discuss camp life and activities. Mentions General Curtis several times and gives his opinion of him. Is fighting only for preservation of the union and states he hates "abolitionists as much as he hates the secesh"....
