Letters written to Miss Lizzie and N.T. Simpson from William B. and Perry Browning, William Henry Biddle, John Hines, Jacob C. Vertreese and Mr. Trueman all serving in the army. Some of them were with the 27th Illinois Infantry, some with the 33rd Illinois, and some with unknown regiments. They discuss the activities of their regiment, news of others from Perry, Illinois, marching and skirmishes.
