Scope and Contents
Diary kept during 1862 gives brief daily account of activities, marching, taking up and putting down camp, problems encountered, weather and references to wife, father and friends back in Vermilion County. Frequent references to lack of food and in one entry states the "men are starving". Regiment moves through Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas. Visits Danville in December and writes about farm, family and efforts to recruit soldiers.
